Not limited to plants and chemical factories, there are numerous production facilities both domestically and internationally that use combustible gases and flammable liquids. If these gases or fumes are released into the air and meet an electrical spark, there is a potential for explosions or fires to occur.
For this reason, each facility is required to use structures and equipment designed to prevent explosions and fires. This is commonly referred to as 'explosion protection (proof)'.
Explosion-proofing applies not only to facilities that store gases and liquids, but also to all areas including surrounding electrical equipment.
Additionally, stringent safety standards related to explosion-proofing have been established in various countries worldwide, and meeting these standards is required when manufacturing and installing equipment.
Production facilities are managed by numerous ‘control panels’, and these control panels are also required to be explosion-proof. Even if combustible gases are not typically released into the atmosphere during normal operations, there is a considerable possibility of gas release during inspection and repair. Therefore, a mechanism and structure that prevent electrical equipment within the facility from becoming an ignition source are required.
Our company possesses extensive knowledge and experience in ‘explosion-proof control panels’, and we have designed and manufactured explosion-proof control panels for use in various sites of numerous companies, both domestically and internationally.
We design and manufacture explosion-proof control panels that comply with the explosion-proof standards of various countries.
Japanese explosion-proof standard. Compliant with the ‘Explosion-Proof Construction Standards for Electrical Machinery and Apparatus’.
When obtaining domestic explosion-proof standards, our company responds by utilizing the designated foreign inspection agency system. As a result, certifications for both IECEx and TIIS are obtained simultaneously.

The 'UL Standard' is a widely recognized international standard for product safety, primarily in the United States. Specifically, our company is registered as an ‘UL Certified Factory' for the design and manufacture of explosion-proof control panels.
(Currently, only two companies in Japan, including us, have obtained UL certification for explosion-proof control panels.)
IECEx stands for the 'IEC Conformity Testing System for Explosion-Protected Equipment', and it is one of the international certification systems for explosion-protected equipment operated by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). As of September 2018, 33 countries, including major developed nations, are participating in IECEx.
ATEX is the standard for explosion protection within the European Union (EU). For equipment used in 'atmospheres with a risk of explosion', compliance with the ATEX Directive is required.
